Woodfibre Was 65 Percent Built in June. Enbridge Still Holds 30 Percent of a 2027 Startup

Woodfibre LNG CEO Luke Schauerte said June 12 the Squamish plant was 65 percent complete after the powerhouse module arrived, with startup targeted for 2027. Enbridge holds 30 percent. Pacific Energy holds 70 percent. Nameplate is about 2.1 million tonnes a year.

The last completion print is June. First cargo is still a 2027 file

Woodfibre LNG, the 2.1 million-tonne-a-year export plant under construction near Squamish, B.C., was 65 percent complete as of June 12, according to chief executive Luke Schauerte speaking to The Canadian Press at the Global Energy Show. The powerhouse module had just arrived. It was the 16th module on site. Schauerte said the 2026 job is connecting components, with startup targeted for 2027.

The project is owned 70 percent by Pacific Energy Corporation, a unit of Singapore's RGE, and 30 percent by Enbridge Inc. (TSX: ENB, NYSE: ENB). That 30 percent is the listed-issuer hook. Enbridge has not posted a newer completion percentage since that June interview. A March construction note had the job near 60 percent after pretreatment and process-utility modules landed.

Woodfibre is meant to run on BC Hydro power and is accessible only by water. Nameplate is about one-seventh of LNG Canada's first phase. Cedar, the Haisla-Pembina floating plant at Kitimat, is still a late-2028 story at 3.75 million tonnes. Woodfibre is the nearer second dock if the 2027 startup holds.

This is steel in Howe Sound. It is not a 2026 Kitimat cargo count.

Neutral read

ENB is on the listed pipeline list. Banks were skipped. 65 percent in June, a 30 percent Enbridge stake, and a 2027 startup target are the facts. Write this as construction progress, not as a cargo already sold. Watch the next module count, BC Hydro interconnection, and whether substantial completion actually lands in 2027.
