Enerflex Ltd. (TSX: EFX, NYSE: EFXT) said today it won a major Engineered Systems contract to design, engineer, fabricate, and assemble more than one gigawatt of low-emission behind-the-meter natural-gas generation units for a large North American data-centre development. The GlobeNewswire note is dated October 13. Combined with about 450 megawatts announced October 1, the company put its behind-the-meter gas-power backlog above 1.75 gigawatts. Deliveries extend through 2028.
The work runs through Enerflex's North American shops. The customer is not named. Paul Mahoney, president and CEO, said demand is for prime power that does not need a grid connection. The company repeated a previously announced plan to put about $100 million into Engineered Systems facilities, $15 million of that inside 2026 capital guidance. After-market work, including ReliaCore, is described as an opportunity on the backlog, not a signed operations contract in this note.
This is a fabrication award. It is not first power, not an AESO connection, and not the October 1 450-megawatt note again.
