Cedar LNG said in its Fall 2026 project newsletter, posted October 21, that overall construction is now more than 70 percent complete. The update covers work at the Kitimat, B.C. site and on the floating liquefied natural gas facility being built in South Korea. Cedar LNG is majority owned by the Haisla Nation with Pembina Pipeline Corporation (TSX: PPL, NYSE: PBA) as partner and operator on the development.
The newsletter points to pipeline progress in Kitimat, marine terminal preparation, and continued FLNG assembly overseas. Management repeated a late-2028 target for first LNG from what it describes as the world's first Indigenous majority-owned LNG export project. The post also highlights apprentice training and community programs on Haisla territory. Those items are workforce and local engagement, not a production test.
Cedar shares the Coastal GasLink feedgas corridor with LNG Canada's Kitimat plant. More completion percentage at Cedar tightens the second-wave LNG story next to Phase 2 expansion work at the Shell-led plant. It does not add tonnes to today's Kitimat export count.
This is a construction progress newsletter. It is not first LNG production, not a final investment decision on a new train, and not a Coastal GasLink capacity increase filing.
