Northland Installed All 76 Baltic Turbines. That Is Not COD

Northland said Wednesday all 76 turbines are in at the 1.1 GW Baltic Power project in Poland with ORLEN. More than one-third are generating. First power was July 2026. Commercial operations are still later in 2026. That is install complete, not COD.

The last turbine is in. Commercial operations are still later

Northland Power Inc. (TSX: NPI) said Wednesday it finished turbine installation at Baltic Power, the 1.1 GW offshore wind project in Poland it jointly owns with ORLEN. The GlobeNewswire note is dated Oct. 7 at 5:05 a.m. ET. All 76 turbines are installed. More than one-third are generating. First power was July 2026. That was the first offshore-wind electricity onto Poland's grid.

The project is about 20 kilometres offshore. It has a 25-year contract-for-difference. Once operational it is expected to generate about 4 terawatt-hours a year, enough for more than 1.5 million Polish households, or about 3 percent of Poland's current demand. Northland said costs are aligned with original expectations and commercial operations are still on track for 2026. The same note says Northland is also building two Poland batteries, 300 MW / 1.2 GWh combined. That is not this milestone.

This is turbine install complete. It is not commercial operations, not first power, and it is not the Alberta Jurassic battery.
