Every turbine is spinning. The permits are not all signed
Northland Power Inc. (TSX: NPI) said October 15 that all 73 turbines at Hai Long, its 1.0 gigawatt offshore wind project in the Taiwan Strait, are installed and generating power. The GlobeNewswire note is time-stamped October 15 at 6:39 a.m. Eastern. Northland holds 30.6 percent of the project alongside Mitsui & Co. at 40 percent and Gentari International Renewables at 29.4 percent.
The project sits roughly 45 to 70 kilometres off Changhua County. Northland said the milestone reduces remaining construction risk and keeps the job on track for final permitting approvals in the first half of 2027, with overall costs aligned with original expectations. Hai Long is backed by a 30-year offtake agreement that management expects to support long-term contracted revenues once the asset is fully commissioned.
CEO Christine Healy called the install a demonstration of Northland's offshore execution record in Asia, separate from the Baltic Power commissioning work in Poland that the company updated earlier in October.
This is a turbine installation and early generation milestone. It is not final commercial operations date, not a dividend change, and not a sale of Northland's Taiwan stake.
