Sunday is the handoff date for the finance chair
Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX: SU, NYSE: SU) announced August 6 that Peter Zebedee will be appointed President and Chief Financial Officer effective September 14, 2026, with oversight of all non-operating functions. The move is part of a board-led succession plan under which Zebedee will become President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2027, concurrent with Rich Kruger transitioning to Executive Vice Chair.
Zebedee is currently Executive Vice President Upstream. He joined Suncor in 2022 after serving as CEO of LNG Canada. His prior roles include senior positions at Shell, Petro-Canada, and Syncrude.
Other executive leadership changes also take effect September 14. Adam Albeldawi will become Executive Vice President Upstream. Shelley Powell will become Executive Vice President Development and Projects, leading execution of Suncor's in situ growth plan outlined at the company's recent Investor Day.
Former Chief Financial Officer Troy Little is no longer with the company. Suncor did not disclose the reason for his departure.

SU is on the listed producer list. Banks were skipped. A September 14 CFO appointment and an April 2027 CEO handoff are the facts. Write this as leadership continuity, not as a production guidance change. Watch whether Zebedee's first quarter in the CFO chair resets capital allocation or turnaround spending at Base Plant and Firebag.
