Record day is behind you. The cheque is still three weeks out
Imperial Oil (TSX: IMO, NYSE American: IMO) declared on July 31 a quarterly dividend of 87 cents per common share for the third quarter of 2026. Payment date is October 1 to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 4.
The rate is unchanged from the second quarter. Imperial noted it has paid a dividend every year for more than a century and has raised its annual dividend for 31 consecutive years.
This is calendar paper. It does not reset Kearl volumes, Strathcona refinery runs, or the accelerated NCIB program Imperial flagged with its second-quarter results in July.
Neutral read
IMO is on the listed producer list. Banks were skipped. Eighty-seven cents, a September 4 record, and an October 1 pay date are the facts. Write this as dividend continuity, not as a crude-price call. Watch whether post-turnaround oil sands volumes recover in the second half and whether the buyback actually finishes the renewed NCIB before year end.
