Record day is Thursday. The operating story is already filed

Canadian Natural Resources (TSX: CNQ, NYSE: CNQ) declared on August 5 a quarterly dividend of $0.625 per common share, payable October 2 to shareholders of record at the close September 11. The annualized rate is $2.50, the company's 26th consecutive year of dividend increases.

Second-quarter results reported August 6 showed record production of 1,677,000 boe per day and adjusted funds flow of $6.9 billion, or $3.30 per share. Shareholder returns in the quarter totaled about $4.0 billion between dividends, buybacks, and net debt reduction. Net debt was $14.5 billion at June 30.

CNQ raised 2026 production guidance twice to 1,637,000 to 1,682,000 boe per day while holding operating capital near $6.0 billion. Medium and long-term oilsands growth projects remain on hold pending definitive agreements on the July trilateral MOU, targeted for November 2026.

Neutral read

CNQ is on the listed producer list. Banks were skipped. A September 11 record date and $6.9 billion of Q2 funds flow are the facts. Write the dividend as cash-return continuity, not as a WTI forecast. Watch whether the November MOU unlocks Jackfish and Pike 2 and whether buybacks continue at Q2 pace.
