Teck Reset the Anglo Merger Clock to Eleven Trading Days. The Dividend Window Moved Too

On September 1 Teck said completion of the Anglo American merger will be eleven trading days after remaining conditions are met, effective about 10 p.m. Vancouver time that day. Anglo's about US$4.5 billion special dividend will now pay within 45 days of the effective date, not 30.

This is timetable paper, not a copper production raise

Teck Resources (TSX: TECK.A, TECK.B, NYSE: TECK) said September 1 that once remaining non-effective-date conditions to its Anglo American merger are fulfilled or waived, completion will occur after eleven trading days. Effective time is expected at 10:00 p.m. Vancouver time on that eleventh day.

The arrangement still needs final regulatory clearance. Teck's prior messaging kept completion between September 2026 and March 2027. This release narrows process timing after conditions clear; it does not announce a close date.

Anglo must declare a special dividend of about US$4.5 billion as a condition to the merger. The original arrangement allowed payment within 30 days of the effective date. Teck and Anglo agreed to extend that to 45 days.

Neutral read

TECK.B is on the listed mining list. Banks were skipped. Eleven trading days and a 45-day dividend window are the facts. Write this as merger mechanics, not as QB production. Watch which regulator sign-offs are still outstanding, when the eleven-day window actually starts, and whether Anglo Teck leadership names from July still hold at close.
