The board set the dates. The cash has not gone out
Emera Inc. (TSX: EMA, NYSE: EMA) said today its board declared quarterly dividends on the common shares and the First Preferred Shares. The Business Wire note is dated October 13. The common dividend is $0.74 a share, payable on and after November 13 to holders of record at the close on October 30. Preferred amounts are unchanged from the July correction: Series A $0.3094, Series C $0.40213, Series E $0.28125, Series F $0.35931, Series H $0.39525, Series J $0.39660, and Series L $0.28750. The company said the dividends qualify as eligible dividends under the Income Tax Act.
The $0.74 common rate is the one Emera posted on October 2, when it lifted the quarterly from $0.7325 and called it a 1 percent annualized raise to $2.96. Today's note sets the record and pay dates. It does not raise the rate again.
This is a quarterly declaration. It is not a new dividend increase, not a special, and not the Emera and Canadian Utilities merger. That agreement still targets a close in the third or fourth quarter of 2027.
